As you will all be aware, I spent this weekend at Echuca for PETS (Presidents Elect Training Seminar), and as always, I have returned inspired and impressed by the enthusiasm and talent of our District’s incoming Club Presidents. Their commitment and focus will ensure a good Rotary year ahead in our District with some exciting projects across the Avenues of Service....

... Tracey provided us with an update of the Big Issue Street Soccer camp, held this weekend at Camp Weekaway, near Lancefield. The camp is held annually, to provide opportunities for socially marginalised members of our community from street soccer teams all over the state to participate in a weekend of personal development, team building and sportsmanship. ...

"Unsung Heroes"

How often do we watch TV and see wonderful humanitarian projects in action, and then wonder to ourselves about how they started? “Gee! - I wonder who thought of that?”

And sometimes I see a program and think: “Isn’t Rotary involved in that?” Like the time I saw children having plastic surgery and asked myself: “Isn’t that an Interplast Project?” I watched to the end, but no mention of Rotary. Often there is little credit given to Rotary’s involvement. ...
