THIS MEETING - June 5th
Toni Meek - Community Relations Manager-Environment Protection Agency
Toni has worked at EPA for the past twelve years and was EPA’s first community liaison officer.  In this role Toni has provided advice and assistance to EPA in managing a range of community issues.  This has seen her work with community groups, industry, other government departments and local residents in attempting to resolve environmental issues of concern to these groups and organisations.  Toni has also played a significant role in helping to develop EPA's program of working with industry to develop environment improvement plans.

In recent years Toni also managed EPA’s communications activities.  In November 2000 Toni assumed responsibility for developing and managing EPA’s new community outreach program in regional Victoria.  Three outreach staff in Traralgon, Gippsland and Wangaratta are providing an important link in strengthening relationships between EPA and the community.

Toni also has extensive experience in staff training and management.  She regularly offers a range of training courses and workshops for EPA staff, students and industry in community liaison, and communication skills, including conflict resolution and customer service.

Toni’s expertise has been recognised at a national level and is regularly sought by government environmental agencies throughout Australia and increasingly the non-government sector.  Her input has also been sought at national and international conferences.

Toni has graduate and post-graduate qualifications in science (psychology and genetics), social work, legal studies and recreation, and a Masters in Behavioural Sciences.  Her previous work experience has included work as a social work practitioner and lecturer at Phillip Institute of Technology (now part of RMIT).

Do YOU enjoy Rotary??
Why be selfish and keep the enjoyment to yourself? Invite a friend, business colleage or acquaintance to one of our meetings. You know they will be made to feel very welcome - and our Guest Speakers are always informative and fun. We should be very proud of our club and of Rotary in general, and be pleased to share it with others. And that's a sure way to grow our membership list too....some visitors may just be interested enough to consider taking another look.
It's a challenge for each of us!
